Welcome to this blog and to the power of 7. Seven has always been an incredibly powerful number for me. It is the number for the month I was born–July. Then if you add my birthdate up, it equals 3 sevens–7/31/73. 7, 7, 3+3+1=7. It’s always been a lucky number for me and one that constantly comes up in things I do, on signs when I least expect it, and so much more.

Seven is known for its luck but, according to a Psychology Today article, there are 7 reasons to be drawn to the number:

1. It has been significant since ancient times and places, including the seven wonders of the world — the Great Pyramid of Giza, the Hanging Gardens of Babylon, the Temple of Artemis at Ephesus, the Statue of Zeus at Olympia, the Mausoleum at Halicarnassus, the Colossus of Rhodes, and the Lighthouse of Alexandria.

2. It has significance in the Bible–it is referenced 735 times. In the Old Testament, the world was created in six days and God rested on the seventh, creating the basis of the seven-day-week we use to this day. It symbolizes completeness and perfection (both physical and spiritual). The number seven is also featured in the Book of Revelation (seven churches, seven angels, seven seals, seven trumpets, and seven stars). The Bible, as a whole, was originally divided into seven major divisions: 1) the Law; 2) the Prophets; 3) the Writings, or Psalms; 4) the Gospels and Acts; 5) the General Epistles; 6) the Epistles of Paul; and 7) the book of Revelation. The total number of originally inspired books was forty-nine, or 7 x 7, demonstrating the absolute perfection of the Word of God.

3. It’s associated with luck. Seven represents the jackpot on slot machines.

4. It matches our memory capacity. In 1956, George Miller of Harvard University demonstrated that most people can retain roughly seven items of information in their short-term memory. That is why phone numbers in the U.S. and many other countries tend to have seven digits (not including area code).

5. It’s the most popular number. In studies asking people to name their favorite number, 7 is always the one selected the most. If you ask people to name a number from one to ten most will name the number seven — as many magicians know.

6. Seven is the number of completeness and perfection (both physical and spiritual).

7. There are seven days of the week, seven continents, seven brides for seven brothers, et cetera.

Something else neat is it’s 2023 and if you add all of those numbers up, you get 7.

So that’s why I’ll be sharing 7 tips, things, or fun resources with you in this blog so you can not only get inspired and learn new stuff, but also have a little luck and completeness mixed into the fold.

Lucky you,

Angel
